We store our ice cream in traditional pozzetti, just like the Italians used to do. We do this to create the best possible Italian gelato experience. These closed containers guarantee a constant temperature and minimize exposure to light and air. And you can taste the difference.
You will not find towering displays filled with decorations here. We stay true to the Italian tradition. We use only high quality and sustainable ingredients, with quality always coming first. Visit us and discover our 18 sensational flavours, including lemon basil, ricotta fig, salted caramel and pistachio made with 100% pistachios.
Our flavours change from time to time, but there is a good chance you will find the following at our locations.
STRAWBERRY – The strawberry plant belongs to the rose family. In symbolism, the strawberry represents short lived pleasure. Strawberries are rich in vitamins. Our strawberry ice cream is made with Senga Sengana strawberries and has a sweet flavour with a fresh finish.
BLOOD ORANGE – Also known as the wine orange, this fruit originated around 1850 in the Mediterranean region. It is a variation of the regular orange. Blood orange ice cream has a refreshing sweetness combined with a distinct citrus sharpness.
LEMON – The lemon tree is the only known tree that bears fruit four times a year. Lemons are rich in vitamin C: 100 grams contains 53 mg. Our lemon ice cream is made with Sicilian lemons, widely considered the finest in the world. Their eccentric sour flavour is clearly present in the ice cream.
LEMON BASIL – The name basil comes from the ancient Greek word “Basileus,” meaning king. Basil originally comes from India, where it is considered a sacred herb. In Italy, a basil plant on a windowsill once symbolized that a woman was looking for a husband, while in Mexico people carried basil leaves in their pockets against losing money. Basil is known for its refreshing and stimulating effect. Combined with lemon, it creates a fresh and aromatic flavour.
CHOCOLATE – Cocoa is an essential ingredient in chocolate ice cream. The Aztecs connected cocoa to the goddess of fertility. In the past, cocoa was only consumed as a drink and was considered a luxury for nobility. Today, chocolate ice cream remains a worldwide favourite. Our version is made with our own dark chocolate, giving it a rich and intense flavour.
COOKIES – Biscotti style cocoa cookies with chocolate spread are folded through creamy ice cream, combining a smooth creamy taste with crunchy chocolate biscuit pieces.
MANGO – After bananas, mangoes are among the most important tropical fruits. Mango blossoms are edible and produce a sweet honey. Mangoes originate from India, where both the tree and fruit are considered sacred. Our mango ice cream is made with Alphonso mangoes from India and has a rich authentic flavour.
LEMON CHEESECAKE – Lemon ice cream with lemon cream and small pieces of Grisbi biscuits, traditional Italian filled cookies. The flavour is creamy and refreshing at the same time, with a pleasant crunch.
FIG – Figs are one of the oldest known fruits and were already cultivated around 9000 BC. They are known to support digestion and were traditionally used as a remedy for sore throats. Fig ice cream has a soft flavour with small pieces of fig throughout.
HAZELNUT – The finest hazelnuts come from Piemonte in Italy. These hazelnuts are rounder and contain fewer skins, resulting in a smoother flavour. We roast and lightly salt the hazelnuts to bring out their full character in the ice cream.
COCONUT PASSION – Coconut is a stone fruit with fibrous flesh. It is highly nutritious, supports digestion and contains antioxidants. Our coconut ice cream has a creamy tropical flavour with a hint of passion fruit.
PISTACHIO – Our pistachios come from Bronte, located at the foot of Mount Etna in Sicily. Sicily is the only place in Italy where pistachios are cultivated. Harvesting takes place only once every two years to preserve the strength of the trees. The mineral rich volcanic soil creates a unique slightly salty aftertaste. The flavour can only be described as real pistachio.
STRACCIATELLA – The name stracciatella means “slightly shredded” and is used in Italy for several dishes, from soup to cheese. Stracciatella ice cream has a creamy white base with pieces of Van Soest chocolate folded in at the very end of the process, preserving its coarse artisanal texture.
VANILLA – Vanilla comes from the climbing orchid. The name derives from the Spanish word vainilla, meaning little pod. The plant originally comes from Mexico, although Madagascar is now the world’s largest producer. The pods are harvested unripe and dried into glossy black vanilla sticks. Inside are tiny black vanilla seeds that create the unique flavour of our vanilla ice cream.
YOGHURT LIMONCELLO – A combination of creamy yoghurt ice cream with lemon. Our yoghurt limoncello flavour contains no alcohol. Limoncello is traditionally produced in southern Italy using Sicilian lemons. The combination creates a refreshing flavour with a light citrus sharpness.
